Tàparas is a newly designed apartment in the medieval citadel. Wake up to rooftops, the lagoon and the mountains, have breakfast facing the sea, and step out onto the old streets that lead to the bastions and the Cathedral.
39.219° N · 9.115° E — the view from the dining table
Behind the old wooden door on Via Martini, everything is new: pale floors, soft light and a palette inspired by Sardinia. Walls painted sage green and warm coral, natural wood and woven cane.
The house is planned for families and friends travelling together. Each of the three bedrooms is quiet and independent, and two full bathrooms mean nobody waits in the morning.
A long living area with a sofa, two armchairs and an oval dining table for six. Large windows look across the city towards the hills.

The kitchen has its own round table set by a wide window. On a clear morning you can see the city fall away to the sea, the Molentargius lagoon and the Devil's Saddle headland above Poetto beach.
It is fully equipped for real cooking: induction hob, oven, coffee machine and kettle. The wall tiles were painted and fired by hand by an artisan who works here in Castello, so you won't find them anywhere else.
Two double bedrooms and a third room with a one-and-a-half bed that opens onto the private courtyard. Every room has an open wardrobe and reading lights.

A four-poster bed against a wall painted in warm coral, a reading chair in the corner and a bathroom with walk-in shower next door.

Calm and green, with relief artworks above the bed, floating wooden bedside tables and soft wall lights.

Walls painted in warm coral, a woven cane lamp and a lounge chair. Its door opens onto the private courtyard, so you step outside straight from your room.

Behind the house is a small open-air courtyard, with painted walls and patches of old stone left exposed. Bring your coffee out in the morning or a glass of Cannonau in the evening.
The courtyard is private: it is yours for the whole stay.

Castello sits high above the city. When the sky is clear, point the telescope from the living room towards the moon and the stars over the Gulf of Cagliari.

Castello is Cagliari's historic citadel, the "upper town" in Sardinian. Tàparas is on Via Martini, in the middle of it. Leave the front door and you are a short walk from the panoramic terraces of the bastions, the Cathedral and the neighbourhood's small trattorias.
Castello is a quiet, mostly pedestrian area. After you book, we send clear directions for arriving by car, taxi or on foot.
